Russ has been around hot air balloons since age four, inspired by his uncle, who piloted balloons in the Netherlands. He earned his pilot certification in 2003 and has since flown across five continents—including Mexico, Canada, the United States, Europe, and Saudi Arabia.

During Ohio’s cold winter months, you might find him flying large passenger balloons in Temecula, California. Russ’s greatest joy comes from watching first-time passengers experience the magic of ballooning and teaching the next generation of pilots.

A Central Ohio native, Trent has been piloting hot air balloons since 1994, bringing nearly 30 years of experience to every flight. He’s flown both regular and special shape balloons, including the famous Darth Vader and Yoda balloons.

His favorite part of ballooning? Taking people up for their very first flight and seeing the wonder on their faces.

Debbie came to The Ohio State University from Northeast Ohio and never left. Flying since 1994, she’s made ballooning a family tradition and still flies her father’s balloon today, keeping his memory alive with every flight.

Her deep connection to the sport and understanding of what makes each flight special creates an experience that goes beyond just the views—it’s about creating meaningful moments in the sky.
